Wave.mov
For this project I researched a lot about climate change and wanted to find a new approach to talk about climate problems through imagery. The normally dry and abstract data documenting our environment became the forming design principle in my animation, which is a real time rendering, coded with Touchdesigner. A dataset that contains the global significant wave height from 1993 to 2019 influences the grids physical attributes in the visualisation as it runs through. „Wave.mov“ creates images that show the development of the global oceans over the past 30 years and elucidates the aftermath of rising sea levels and global warming - more and more intense waves and storms.
My work was shown in an Exhibition in Berlin, titled „Human Data Spaces“, in February 2020.
